When I dream I never get the facts straight. But it's not the facts my dream is trying to tell me. And in the middle of my dream I stop and try and make sense of it and I never can. Most times it's the subject of what's on my dream screen. Most often the things that I have failed to notice or pay attention to during the day version of my dreams is clamoring for my attention in my somnolent intervals.
These days I remind myself of what parts of my waking life I have to ride my horse, and I do still tend to procrastinate those events that I still can. The time clock in my head doesn't always display the right time but I fail to oversleep most mornings anyway.

ReplyDeleteDreams don't make sense. I bet if they did, then a lot of us would already be Kings and Queens of our own kingdoms. Geez, I know that probably sounds immature. But, I believe it's true. If our dreams all came true, then there would be no wars, no hate, and no tears would ever be shed ever again.
Yet, this is the magic of what makes a dream (or, even a daydream), something that can never be explained. Even when I wake up from a dream, it's many times that I can't remember what it was that just ran through my mind a few minutes before I awakened to catch my breath. My heart may race a bit. And, then suddenly it's gone. The images and events within that dream suddenly vanish.
Then, I go on with my day. It's only a few times when I can actually remember at a later point in time what happened in that dream. (And, it's scribbled down somewhere)
I bet you already write down your dreams. Believe you me, when you read back some of the scribbles that you may write on the event of remembering what happened in a dream, you might grimace. I've grimaced many times, wondering what the hell was I thinking when I read back what I'd written down.
Maybe, this is the reason why we don't make sense or remember our dreams when we are in the waking moments. It's probably because a higher power knows we will never truly understand what is going on inside of us. Or, across the universe around us.
Two diverse men had it right. One author and one actor, nailed it on point:
"Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night."
Edgar Allan Poe (1809 - 1849), "Eleonora"
Or, just go right for the jugular and take a stab with a rebel from the not so distant past.
"Dream as if you'll live forever... live as if you'll die today "
~ James Dean
Dream on, dream on, dream on, JB....:)
