The Elevator Doors

Most times I never seem to know what might arrive on the elevator’s descent. When the doors open I know that it’s not empty space I am greeted by. It is often not what I expect  but I am always surprised at what the universal mind gives me to tap out on this keyboard.

  1. I am constantly amazed at how you come up with all this material!

  2. Sometimes the doors open and a friend is standing there. While other times, it's a stranger. But, then again we all are strange.

I bet you know this one below:

People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down

    When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
    When you're strange
    No one remembers your name
    When you're strange
    When you're strange
    When you're strange ......

I think Jim and the fellas expressed the uncertainty of what lurked behind the doors (ha, ha) within our own souls.

Sometimes the empty spaces are filled with both shock and joy. The shock comes from what could roll through your mind. And, the joy comes from the release of words onto a page or keyboard. It can flow like an ocean of thoughts sometime. Then again, a trickle can tap gently against a keyboard.

Bring on the flood of emotion across the page.
Or, just let a few drops tickle a notepad.

Either way, the doors are forever shifting. Inside and out. Internal and External.

    :)
