Revenge is for those that think they’ve been left with no other alternative than to seek relief from the pain they feel. Unfortunately the pain remains after their intended target has been hit back often with a greater force.
Human nature move us in the direction of seeking relief when hurt. I can remember being a child and my Dad saying" don't stand there and let him hit you". "Hit him back and he won't do it again". I recall him saying if you don't he will think it is OK to do it over and over again Perhaps it is something we were taught to do?
To wit....My mother and father used to tell me to bite my sister back because she was repeatedly doing it and when I finally did she stopped. Maybe there is a lesson here but I think its my nature to turn the other cheek.
The power you exercise is passive aggressive. You may not be vicious and seek revenge, but you isolate and close out those who love you and want to help you.

ReplyDeleteYes I think so but sometimes you must defend yourself.
ReplyDeleteI think that you are right and I have to exercise the power at least some of it.
