The Captain

We can give ourselves credit for things that we think we did well and it’s a great way for us to feel some sense of self-esteem even if we engage in hyperbole as to what actually transpired.  We all tend to exaggerate at times and that’s okay as long as we keep our heads right size and don’t get too carried away.

  1. In case you haven't heard "self praise stinks"

  2. I post your sometimes acerbic comments so that I can learn from things that I often disagree with and because there is always an element of truth in what you say but it seems as if your parochial view of life is maybe out of step with reality.

  3. And some of your friends ask who that rude &@$#% is!

A true friend loves and accepts you for who you are.

JB, I don't see how you can learn from an alledged friend chastising you. It's more like dysfunctional " old school" parenting. Maybe it's that it feels familiar to you?

  4. We only know from our own experience. And sometimes it's difficult to jump outside the box of another paradigm. I learn from the words spoken by those that disagree with me more than those that agree with me although I am grateful to those that love me and could not live without them.

  6. My goodness!!!

Hell??? JB, former altar boy?? Everyone has their own faults. Let's not take his inventory. JB, despite your character defects you are truly a kind hearted man. Some of us know that occasionally there are slips, but going to HELL is quite an extreme judgement! How could there be any element of truth in that statement?!.

Despite being dragged up (as opposed to brought up) Catholic, I am certainly not one to quote scripture. However, I was taught that We are all human and are therefore imperfect. Despite our imperfections, our higher power loves us all and will allegedly save us all in the end.

JB, I guess there's some hope for you and me. If not, then at least we'll be in HELL together!
